The label

Cupido Sync is a record label built on Mat Dietrich’s production studio. It is being set up in Freiburg and opens its doors later this year. The idea is simple: a small label where the producer’s chair and the label desk are the same chair — records made with the same care they are released with.

Until the launch, the studio keeps working as before: production, mixing and mastering for artists and labels. If you are an artist and want to be heard when the label opens, send a demo through the form below — a link is enough.

Bio

I’m Mat Dietrich — Mathias Dietrich on paper. I started on guitar at 9, then added keyboards, bass, and later drums. By the ’80s I was splicing 2″ tape in recording studios. Today, I’m producing in the digital realm while also programming audio tools in C++, Rust, WASM and Svelte.

I run Cupido Sync and also build Plinken, a browser-based workspace where artists can collaborate on audio and video, record remotely, and tap into clever AI tools.

I use a variety of tools — love Apple's Logic Pro and a gazillion plugins, some tools run on code, some on AI, some on coffee, and all guided by me ears.

After years in the UK and California, I’m back in the EU and making Freiburg my new home. Later this year Cupido Sync launches here as a record label, and my production partnership with Zeus B. Held is coming back to life. Stay tuned, literally...
